Our Path

Four decades, one operator — and now a partnership.

  1. i.
    1980s

    Houston, on the floor

Mohammad enters the convenience-store industry in Houston, working his way from clerk to store manager.

  2. ii.
    1990s

    The first store

Buys his first convenience store in Massachusetts — a Dairy Mart location — and becomes an owner-operator.

  3. iii.
    2000s – 2010s

    Arkansas, at scale

Enters the Arkansas market, acquires a major multi-site c-store package, and grows the portfolio to 62 sites across the state.

  4. iv.
    2010s

    A first attempt at retirement

Sells off the majority of the Arkansas portfolio and steps back from day-to-day operations.

  5. v.
    2024

    Back in the business

Returns to convenience retail with his son, Faris — and returns to Houston, where it all began.

  6. vi.
    2025 →

    A growing footprint, a father–son partnership

A Houston portfolio of 25+ stores, with new entries into Colorado and Florida. Expanding into fuel distribution and building a proprietary operating brand — a true father–son partnership, rooted in legacy experience and speeding toward the future.

    Speedfast
Origin

One company, one business at a time.

United Lone Enterprises was built the way most enduring businesses are built — slowly, by operators who valued doing the work over telling the story.

What began with a single operating asset has grown into a portfolio anchored by Speedfast, our fuel and convenience brand. New ventures are added deliberately, only when the right operator and the right business present themselves.

What We Believe

Six principles that govern every decision we make.

01

Own Forever

Permanent capital changes everything. When you don't have to sell, you don't have to compromise.

02

Trust the Operator

The best owners hire well and stay out of the way. Operating decisions belong to the people closest to the customer.

03

Pay Down Debt

Leverage looks like efficiency until it isn't. We borrow modestly and prepay aggressively.

04

Boring Is Beautiful

We are not in the business of disruption. We are in the business of essential things — and we'd like to be in it for a long time.

05

Invest in People

Every leader, every store manager, every operator — they are the company. We hire well, train well, and pay fairly.

06

Tell the Truth

Internally and externally. With customers, partners, regulators, and each other. Reputation compounds the same way capital does.

Leadership

Family-led, with operating depth.

United Lone is led directly by its ownership, supported by operating leadership with deep functional expertise in fuel and convenience retail.

Ownership

Capital allocation, governance, long-term strategy

Ownership sets capital allocation, evaluates new opportunities, and stewards the long-term direction of the company.

Operating Leadership

Day-to-day operations

Speedfast is led by an operating team with full P&L responsibility and the authority to run the business.

Shared Services

Finance, legal, HR, technology

A central team supports each division with finance, legal, and administrative infrastructure — so operators can focus on their customers.

Why "United Lone"
"United, because we are one family across many businesses. Lone, because we don't follow anyone else's playbook."
